373. Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow

O’ Weeping Willow, why do you hate the daylight so?

Why do you cry to the sun and hang your head so low?

Do you want us all to feel the same way that you do?

Are you angry with the sun, which dries, then feeds you too?

O’ Weeping Willow, why do you love the darkness so?

Why do you wave and smile at the moon; and let your beauty show?

Do you love the dark because it hides your bitterness?

Does the night conceal your tears within it’s tranquil darkness?

O’ Weeping Willow, why do you exist to feel this way?

Why must you live to suffer so?

Why does it have to be this way?

Do you know where we all go when we turn to dust?

Weeping Willow won’t you cry for me too, when you meet my drifting dust?

356. Fireflies

fireflies-stars-night_89915_990x742

Fireflies fill the night skies.

The wind is warm and light.

I stand alone beneath the stars,

This peaceful June night,

And wonder if stars are really,

The souls of ancient beings,

Who look upon the plight of man,

As a show with histrionic scenes.

In the expanse of time and space,

The lives of earthly men,

Must seem so trivial to a star,

Who’s seen from now to then.

Will stars recall when we looked up,

And stared into their gaze?

Will they remember who we were?

Will they remember us always?

Do we remember the fireflies,

Which danced before our eyes?

On summer nights while time passed by,

Did they gaze into our eyes?

Do not forget those fireflies,

Though trivial they may seem,

In the many nights of our lives,

They come and go like a dream.

Yet, if we don’t remember them,

Or moments while we live,

Who could hope for the stars to gaze back,

And watch us while we live?

And recall when our time runs out,

The beauty of existence.

How each life’s spark was beautiful,

In these skies of happenstance,

Where we all danced for awhile.

302. Gothic

StarryNight_Posterreworked

The beauty of the universe,

Is truly a sight to behold.

There is joy to be found in many places,

And if I could be so bold…

I’d say: Beauty has many faces.

Even in the darkest of nights,

When shadows traverse the planet,

The universe is seen more dazzling and pure;

And all the stars which span it,

Only the darkness can confer.

True beauty is not found skin-deep.

Things which on the surface may seem,

Dark and depressing or freakish and bizarre,

May be just the things which beam,

And bare the most enchanting star.

You shouldn’t reject out of hand,

The beauty which lies in the dark.

You may find you’ve missed, what in life, is most grand:

Something which shines in the dark!

You may miss a new stars’ first spark.

244. Black & White

tumblr_inline_mg07nbSWHu1qeptf3

Black and white.

Cold and fright.

In the dark….it’s cold.

On the face………….it’s white!

Black and white.

Cold and fright.

In the night,….the dark and light,

Give-in to the fears in flight,

From the memories: ………..black and white.

129. La Luna Song

O’ la luna,

Dance me in your light.

Spin me through the blackened fields,

Grass-blades shimmering in your sight,

On this crisp October night.

O’ la luna,

Caress this soft eve-wind,

So it will lull with crawling flesh,

And whispering, “rescind, rescind”…,

Carry ‘way the soul un-skinned.

full-moon-in-night-sky-over-water

O’ la luna,

Revive they song and sing,

Of gallantry, valor true,

And hearty so it doth ring,

Echoing through everything.

O’ la luna,

Your presence dragoons,

The spirit to endure and frolic to the seeping tunes,

Flowing down from beacon-moons.

O’ la luna,

Drip down into me.

Sift through cracks of rusted-bone;

Free the longing reverie:

Fiery reserves of glee.

O’ la luna,

For in your light and air,

Fairies flutter whimsically,

In the weightless air, so fair;

Free, vibrant, without a care!

O’ la luna,

Bail out the prisoned-dream.

Deep beyond the bones and flesh is…,

A subsisting thought to deem:

There’s more life than what may seem.

O’ la luna,

Locked and chained to the law,

The conditions of judges,

Belie my core with a flaw;

And leaves me ‘lone and in awe.

O’ la luna,

Unsuited by the skin.

A realization’s found…,

Dancing with a fairy-spin,

A contentment long hidden.

O’ la luna,

From out the bones it runs,

Set loose upon the midnight,

To be and live, and dance suns,

Into the dark-world of shuns.

O’ la luna,

My spirit runs to thee,

Declaring in a whisper,

“Dance me in your light…hold me”.

And spins in the crisp-nights’ air,

The unquenchable passion to be.

94. Restful Sleep

O’ Land of dreams,

I look to thee,

For perceptibility.

O’ Land of dreams,

Help me to view,

A glad fantasy anew.

bed zanzibar

O’ Land of dreams,

Let me there land,

On golden shore, bright and grand.

O’ Land of dreams,

Grant me true rest,

On a bed with fair-lace dressed.

O’ Land of dreams,

Bid me repose,

Within kindly dreams enclose.

66. Tonight

moonovercity

Tonight,

All the world rests their heads.

Lying down in their known beds.

Every soul yawns a yawn,

To last until the breaking dawn.

Every eye is shutting tight,

Speaking to the moon goodnight.

All the troubles of their day,

Are floating off,

Are miles away.

Tonight, thoughts are replaced with dreams,

Where happiness passionately beams.

25. A Numb Place

candle star

In the dark depths of night.

My mind wanders tonight,

To a place where none can reach, without the candles dying light.

In the cold arena of night,

My thoughts take flight,

To a place that few know of where tears reduce sight.

In the starry-skied night,

My sadness gains height,

To a place that’s near, but seems so far,

Where things are set right…,

If only for the night.
